Character Development

The student wellbeing program comprises lessons and activities that improve awareness and identity, develop talents and potential, build human capital and contribute to the realisation of personal aspirations.
At each year level, students experience programs that nurture their spiritual, social, ethical, physical, intellectual and emotional development.

The student wellbeing curriculum provides a set of opportunities for the holistic development of all the students in a cooperative rather than a competitive mood. It aims to help students become happy, confident, and resilient lifelong learners who contribute to their communities. These curriculum experiences will enable students to lead themselves and others, make healthy decisions, and meet challenges of the future with hope and optimism.

The curriculum is shaped by the main strands of BVS; educational excellence, empowered leadership, healthy living and service to community and nation. The student wellbeing curriculum endeavours to provide age-specific experiences that are relevant, all-inclusive, dynamic, and strength-based in approach.

Outdoor Education

The Bhaktivedanta School’s Outdoor Education Program represents an integral part of the total education of our students. The focus of outdoor education is to develop strength within the individual, between individuals, and between individual groups and the environment. The core program is adventure based and focuses very much on experiential education.

There are also expedition components within the program for each year level and different objectives for each year level. All programs are designed to complement the physical and emotional maturity of the group. The BVS Outdoor Education Program promotes competent and capable problem solvers who show initiative and are able to adapt to ever changing environments.

Community Service

In nurturing the successful individuals of tomorrow, BVS believes strongly in giving back to the community. Throughout the year, students have opportunities to participate in community events through performing arts and practical service that would empower them to interact with the wider community of varied backgrounds. Such interactions are based purely on the belief that in sharing happiness with others the happiness received will be manifold.

Young people are the future of the nation nay the entire creation and hence serving the community will develop their skills to identify and find solutions to myriad of challenges people face today.

With compassion and community as the core principles of the program, the service committee participates in numerous and diverse projects, from hands on voluntary work to fundraising activities.

BVS believes community service is a vital component of a holistic education and teaches students that they have an important responsibility to their community and environment.
